State of transformation 2019 conference

Helping each other out of the crisis
For the second year running, the Public service: state of transformation conference brought together 200 thought leaders from across public service transformation. This year’s theme was all about ‘Helping each other out of the crisis’ and included a mix of breakout sessions, unconference pitches and a closing session from keynote speaker Mariana Mazzucato, Professor of Innovation and Public Value at UCL, Director of the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose, author of The Value of Everything: making and taking in the global economy.
Research suggests 80 percent of change programmes fail so we were pleased to launch our 2019 state of transformation report featuring proven practices and leading edge thinking to support your transformation initiatives. We also launched our 2019 survey done in collaboration with Public Sector Solutions Expo that reviewed the national ‘state of transformation’ to give insight into the strengths and challenges facing the public sector.
If you missed out on a session – or just want to revisit for reflection you can find most of the presentations from the breakout sessions below:
And check out ‘Theatre of the Oppressed’ the experiential learning session on unheard voices that ran at this year’s conference!
Some feedback of the day:
“Big selection of sessions to choose and learn from”
“Opportunity to get an update on where public sector is. Learn about some new innovations.”
“Honest, unstructured conversations in breakout sessions.”
“Having the opportunity to share my story.”
“I found the unconference sessions very valuable. They encourage delegate participation. The “Elephant in
the room” session was very through-provoking.”
