Evening seminar on complex commissioning for complex needs
November 6, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Academy for Social Justice Commissioning is pleased to announce Complex commissioning for complex needs, an evening seminar to be held in Manchester on November 6th 2018 which will explore the lessons learned in the past four years regarding the best ways of using partnerships, individuals assets and lived experience to build fulfilling lives. (Download the flyer for full details.)
According to research by the Lankelly Chase Foundation (founded in 2015), around 60,000 people in England experience multiple and complex needs, which is defined by their exhibiting two or more of a list of needs including homelessness, current/historical offending, problematic substance or alcohol misuse, and mental ill-health. This not only affects their lives, but leads to significant social and economic costs associated with a failure to effectively support them. The Big Lottery Fund has invested £112m over 8 years to fund partnerships of local organisations to work together and improve services for people with such needs.
This free seminar will look at what has been learned in the first four years of the programme regarding how this beneficiary group can best be supported, and how that knowledge might inform improved commissioning practices. This event will be held at Manchester Metropolitan University between 5pm and 7pm, and will feature presentations from:
- Laura Furness (Head of Funding, Big Lottery Fund);
- Paul Pandolfo ( Programme Manager, Shelter); and
- special guests with lived experience of multiple and complex needs.
To request your free seminar place please book here — but please note you must be an Academy member in order to attend any events. Membership and services are likewise free; register to join the Academy here.
