The PSTA seeks to bring together everything useful for public service transformation, so we list all events, news, and resources which we believe may be useful, alongside our own events and materials. Inclusion signals that we support the espoused purpose of the event or content and believe it is worth looking into, but is not a guarantee of quality.
Set up an EU office
September 30 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Basis is holding a workshop for social impact, start-up or growth organisations
Brexit has prompted many large organisations to set-up subsidiaries or move to continental Europe to ensure their businesses can continue to thrive. Smaller companies, including social impact organisations, are often less prepared. However, social impact, of course, knows no boundaries and many want to (or continue to) do work within the whole of the EU.
The Netherlands and particularly the City of The Hague is positioning itself as a European Hub for Social Impact organisations.
World Startup Factory is an important player in this, a venture builder for social impact start-ups (worldwide), and helping to set up over 30 social impact organisations.
The Chief Exec of World Startup Factory, Gerrit Jan, will talk through the process, opportunities and risks.
At the session we’ll cover:
– The choice: partnering, Joint-Venture or own office in the EU.
– The importance of working within a hub and network of social impact organisations.
– The practicalities and challenges of setting up an office.
– Overall considerations to take into account.
– Cases of UK social impact companies who set-up a subsidiary – Basis Ltd set up ImpactBasis.
There will be plenty of time for networking with other folks with similar plans. We’ll also drink beer. The session is organised and facilitated by Basis Ltd.
