Be the Catalyst: a conversation about changing adult social care

Powering Possibilities hosts an online conversation on 3 December about direct payments, community micro-enterprises, and helping people lead lives of their choosing.

· The Public Service Transformation Academy

Thursday 3 December 2026, 12:30-13:50 GMT · Online

Powering Possibilities CIC is hosting 'Be the Catalyst: Start the change', with contributions from Sue and Malcolm Blackwell and Helen Allen of Community Catalysts.

Sue and Malcolm will draw on their family's experience of direct payments and on co-founding DanceSyndrome with their daughter Jen Blackwell. Helen will discuss helping people develop community micro-enterprises using their skills, interests, and local connections.

The organisers promise practical examples and breakout discussions about widening people's choices and changing support that is no longer working for them. The conversation is relevant to commissioners, practitioners, people drawing on support, and family members.

Read Community Catalysts' announcement, published on 23 October 2026, and check the event details and book. Online access details will be provided by the organiser.

Thanks to Community Catalysts for sharing this event. It is organised by Powering Possibilities CIC, rather than the PSTA.
