The next National Commissioning Academy launches with an online session on Monday 14 September 2026, followed by the first full anchor day on Wednesday 23 September. The main programme runs through to February 2027.
This is not technical procurement training. The National Commissioning Academy is for people who need to shape services, partnerships, systems, markets, and outcomes in difficult conditions. It combines practical commissioning methods with systems thinking, leadership, peer challenge, and action on a live issue from each participant's own organisation or place.
Participants work through five learning cycles covering whole-system design, relationships and organisations, capacity and capability, citizen- and outcome-centred practice, information and insight, innovation, the commissioning process, service design, and convening sustainable change.
The fee is £2,490 per participant. Discounts are available for bookings of three or more people and for organisations willing to host an anchor day.
