Modular blended programme

Leading Transformation

A modular blended programme for people who need to understand, lead and sustain public service transformation across systems, organisations and services.

Available in-house

Build capability around real change

Leading Transformation brings together theory, models, tools and active learning for people responsible for public service change. The programme is modular, so an organisation can use the full pathway or select the parts that match its pressures.

The point is not to accumulate frameworks. Participants use the material to understand what is happening in their own work, make choices and practise different ways of acting.

The learning territory

The 24 modules cover seven connected areas:

  • Leading transformation, including system leadership and leadership in complexity.
  • Being a transformation agent, including systems mapping and the limits of methods.
  • Management world, including organisation design and culture.
  • Citizen world, including customer and behavioural insight.
  • The boundary between citizen and service worlds, including demand.
  • Service world, including service design and business cases.
  • Change and learning world, including prototyping, communication and sustainable change.

Support for application

Depending on the design, online material can be supported by webinars, action learning, coaching or mentoring, a face-to-face review day, an experiential simulation and support to develop a 100-day transformation plan.

Small groups from the same organisation often gain more than isolated participants. They can compare what different parts of the system are seeing and support one another when the formal programme finishes.

Start with the work

Tell us what is happening, who needs to act, and what cannot wait.

We will help you decide whether a short diagnostic, an in-house cohort, a place-based academy, or an existing programme is the sensible next move.
